Paulo Tramujas and Matsuoka sensei at the Doshinokai Dojo
Paulo Tramujas began his martial arts training very early in life. At the age of 10, influenced by his father who was himself a Karateka, Tramujas began experimenting different traditions, such as Judo, Karate, Kendo, Jiu-jitsu, among others. At the age of 14, Tramujas enrolled at an Aikido school in his hometown and practiced with different local instructors. His life was to be changed forever though, when at 17 he met his master, Haruo Matsuoka sensei. His eyes were open to what real Aikido is, and since then Tramujas has been following his instructions, having taken all his rank examinations under Matsuoka sensei’s scrutiny.
It was under Matsuoka sensei’s influence that Paulo Tramujas began studying other related arts such as calligraphy and Eastern Medicine. In 1998, Tramujas had the privilege of meeting Abe sensei, a 10th Dan Aikido and Shodo (calligraphy) master, and a direct student of the founder of Aikido.
